Giant Worms are celebrities

Thanks to their impresive size, Giant Worms have become the TV stars of the edible bugs and the media symbol of entomophagy. Often chewed alive for the spectacular effect, the giant worms are actually a kind of mealworm called "morio". These beetle larvae love to eat stored food, especially wheat flour and cereals. The larvae can measure up to 8 cm! Before being offered for consumption, giant worms are first boiled, then they undergo a dehydration process by pre-cooking.

Generally, those who taste giant worms for the first time are surprised to find a familiar flavor of grilled chicken. However, when the giant worms are prepared as a dessert, it's rather a nutty flavor that emerges. Amazing, right? The future of food 

Easy to breed, the giant worms only need very little space to grow and they develop rapidly while ingesting little quantities of food and almost no water. This is why the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) promotes the development of the production of this type of edible insects in highlighting its low environmental impact and nutritional qualities. For example, giant worms offer the same nutrient intake as meat, while containing more omega-3 fatty acids than fish. They are also rich in calcium. We're positive about it, edible insects are the future of food!
